Artistic Tile is pleased and honored to have our new Ambra Collection selected as one of the year’s top building products in Architectural Record’s annual Product Reports, as seen in the December ’08 issue. Each September, Architectural Record invites a jury of architects, lighting designers, and product specialists to convene for the day to help the magazine’s editors select the most noteworthy building products of the year. One reported sentiment among the esteemed jurors this year was the desire to find products strong both technically and aesthetically. Recognized in the “Finishes” category, Ambra is inspired by the four elements of nature. Designed exclusively for Artistic Tile by Italian Artisan Giovanni Barbieri, the sculptural, three-dimensional stone tile is hand-carved using an original finishing technique that gives Ambra the appearance of two separate stones. This unique collaboration of dark and light shades in an undulating pattern provides a touch of drama to any exterior or interior wall installation, especially when illuminated. The collection includes 24” x 24” and 12” x 12” tiles in three color ways.
